Submitting an assigned parking tow request

Last updated: November 4, 2026

When an unauthorized vehicle is in a resident's assigned spot, the resident can request a tow from their ParkingPass portal. You can point them to these steps, or log in as the resident and submit it for them.

Before you start

  • Assigned parking must be turned on for your community. If it isn't, this option won't appear in the resident portal.

  • The resident must have an assigned parking spot set up in their account.

  • Tow requests can only be submitted for the resident's own assigned spot.

  • To submit on a resident's behalf, see How to see the resident portal.

Steps

  1. In the resident portal, open the tow request in one of two ways:

    • Go to Resident Control Panel → Assigned Parking Help.

    • On the Resident Dashboard, click Vehicle Parked in My Spot in the top-right corner.

  2. Enter the license plate number and plate state.

  3. Enter the vehicle's make, model, and color.

  4. Upload a clear photo of the license plate.

  5. Upload a photo of the parking spot number.

  6. Upload a photo of the unauthorized vehicle in the spot.

  7. Submit the request.

What happens next

The resident sees an on-screen confirmation, and your contracted patrol vendor is notified immediately. Arrival time depends on the vendor's availability. The vendor carries out the tow according to your community's rules.

For how tows are authorized, recorded, and disputed, see Tows overview.

Important notes

  • Tow requests can only be submitted for the assigned spot tied to the resident.

  • Misuse of this feature may result in restricted access.

  • ParkingPass handles the tow request, but your contracted patrol vendor carries out enforcement.

Troubleshooting

  • If the vehicle leaves before the tow, cancel the tow request in the portal so the vendor isn't dispatched.

  • If a resident can't see their assigned spot, review their parking setup and update the assigned spot. The tow request only works when assigned parking is set up correctly. See How Assigned Parking works.
