How early permit renewal works
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Early permit renewal lets residents pay for their next permit term up to 10 days before their current permit expires. If a resident can't renew, check their lease expiration date first.
How it works
The renewal window opens 10 days before the permit's expiration date. The system sets this window, and it's the same for every resident.
The lease expiration date on file decides whether a resident can renew. Renewal isn't available if the lease expiration date has passed, is missing, or doesn't extend far enough. A renewed permit can't run past the lease expiration date on file.
When a resident signs a new lease, update their lease expiration date in ParkingPass before they try to renew. Once the new date is saved, the resident can renew. The renewed permit lines up with the new lease expiration date.
Where to find it
To update a lease date, open the resident's account, then go to Quick Actions → Update User Info → Lease Expiration Date.
What you can do with it
Update one resident's lease date, see Updating a resident's lease expiration date.
Update lease dates for many residents at once, see Bulk editing lease dates.
Important notes
Renewal timing is based on the permit's expiration date, not the payment date or the lease expiration date.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. The renewed permit activates as soon as payment succeeds.
Standard renewals don't need approval from ParkingPass support. Once the lease date is current, the resident can renew during the normal window.
Keeping lease dates current helps prevent permit lapses and late fees.
If a resident still can't renew after you've confirmed their lease date, email support@parkingpass.com. Include the resident's name, unit, and any error message or screenshot.
