Converting a resident to Guest Only

Last updated: November 4, 2026

Convert a resident's account to Guest Only when they don't have a vehicle of their own but need to register guests. Once converted, they can register and manage guest passes, but not resident vehicles.

Before you start

Use this when:

  • A resident can't add a guest pass because ParkingPass says a resident vehicle is required, and they don't have one registered.

  • The resident only needs guest parking.

  • Your community's rules allow guest passes for residents without a registered vehicle.

Don't use this if:

  • The resident needs to register their own vehicle, long-term or otherwise.

  • Your community doesn't allow guest passes under its current rules.

  • The resident should keep full vehicle registration access.

Steps

  1. Open your community in the portal.

  2. Search for the resident or unit, and open the resident's profile.

  3. Open the Quick Actions dropdown in the top-right corner of the profile.

  4. Select Convert to Guest Only.

What happens next

The resident can register and manage guest passes, following your community's guest rules. They can no longer register resident vehicles.

Important notes

  • Guest Only residents can register guest passes only, not resident vehicles.

  • Check your community's parking rules before converting an account.

  • Make this change from the property manager side. Residents shouldn't convert their own accounts.

  • A Guest Only account may still have a fee, similar to a parking permit, for access to ParkingPass and guest registration.
