How restricted guest vehicles work
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Restricted guest vehicles keep a guest from parking at your community for too many days in a row. When a guest vehicle reaches your community's consecutive-day limit, ParkingPass restricts it automatically until a set waiting period ends.
How it works
Your community's guest rules, set during onboarding, define two things:
The maximum number of consecutive days a guest vehicle can park.
The restriction period that follows once a vehicle reaches that limit.
When a guest vehicle goes past the consecutive-day limit, ParkingPass marks it as restricted. The vehicle can't get a new guest pass until the restriction period ends. This happens automatically, with no action from you.
Where to find it
Restricted vehicles: Go to Patrol → Ban Vehicle. This page lists every vehicle currently restricted under your guest rules.
Your guest rules: Open Parking Policy from the dashboard, or go to Manage Property Settings and review the guest parking settings.
What you can do with it
Check whether a guest vehicle is restricted when a resident can't register a pass for it. See A resident can't register a guest pass.
Manage the ban list from the Ban Vehicle page, based on your community's settings.
Review your consecutive-day limit and restriction period. See How guest parking settings work.
Important notes
Restriction rules are set during onboarding and applied automatically.
Changing your guest parking settings may need to be coordinated with your enforcement setup. To request a change, email support@parkingpass.com.
Patrol officers check for an active guest pass, so a restricted vehicle without one may face enforcement.
