Releasing, reassigning, or unassigning a parking spot
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Release, reassign, or unassign a parking spot when a resident no longer needs it. The spot then becomes available to reassign or list on the Parking Spot Marketplace.
Who can do this: Property managers. Available on: the Enterprise package, with Assigned Parking turned on.
Before you start
Know which spot you're changing and, if you're reassigning it, which resident should get it.
If the resident is moving out, you may not need to do anything. Their spot is released automatically when they're moved out, either right away or through Future Move-Out.
Steps
To release or reassign a spot
Go to Assigned Parking in the left sidebar.
Find the spot.
Open the spot's action menu and choose Release, or Reassign to give it to another resident.
To unassign a reserved spot from a vehicle
Open the account of the resident who has the reserved spot.
Go to Resident Vehicles and find the vehicle assigned to the reserved spot.
Choose the option to unassign the parking zone.
Confirm.
What happens next
The spot is available right away. You can assign it to another resident or list it on the Parking Spot Marketplace.
Important notes
Releasing a spot removes the resident's ability to file Assigned Parking Tow Requests for it.
For move-outs, see Scheduling a future move-out.
