User History overview
Last updated: November 3, 2026
User History lets you see every meaningful action taken on or by a resident's account, and who took it. Use it first for accountability questions and dispute backup.
How it works
User History records actions on a resident's account: account creation, application changes, vehicle additions, guest pass creation, payment events, and more. Each entry shows who performed the action — the resident, a property management user, or ParkingPass itself, such as an automatic notification or scheduled event.
Each entry includes:
Timestamp: the date and time of the action.
Activity: a description of what happened, like "[Resident name] created their account successfully."
Performed By: who did it.
Category: the functional area, like User Account, Application, or Payment.
Details: a View Details button that opens the full record.
You can narrow the log with Filter By Category, Filter By Date Range, and Search.
User History is kept for the lifetime of the resident's account.
Who can use it
Property managers. Property-side logs, including Performed By, are visible only to property management.
Where to find it
Go to Residents, open the resident's profile, and click View User History at the bottom of the profile.
What you can do with it
Find who approved an application. Check Performed By on the approval entry.
Confirm when a resident registered. Look for the account creation entry.
See whether a staff member edited a record. Performed By separates staff actions from resident actions.
Back up a dispute. If a resident says they did or didn't do something, User History is the authoritative record.
Investigate a complaint across several logs — see Handling a resident complaint with activity logs.
Common questions
Can I see the values before a record was edited?
User History shows that the edit happened and who made it. Open the entry's View Details for before and after values, if available. If that doesn't show what you need, email support@parkingpass.com. Support may be able to retrieve the earlier values.
Where do actions on guest vehicles or Do-Not-Tow entries show up?
Logs are tied to user accounts. For a guest vehicle, check the host resident's User History. For a Do-Not-Tow entry, check the User History of the staff user who added it, or the Do-Not-Tow list itself.
Can I export User History?
There's no export button. Filter by date range and take screenshots, or email support@parkingpass.com if you need a structured export.
Important notes
Always check Performed By when accountability is at issue. It's the field that separates resident actions from staff actions.
For long-term legal records, save the entries you need outside ParkingPass.
These logs are confidential. Handle them with the same care as any other resident data.
