Automated notification FAQs

Last updated: November 4, 2026

Quick answers to common questions about the notifications ParkingPass sends automatically.

A resident says they didn't know their permit was expiring. Were they told?

Check their Email Log and SMS Log. The permit expiration reminders should be there. If they were sent, the issue is likely a spam folder or an outdated email address. If they weren't, email support@parkingpass.com. See Email and SMS logs overview.

Why am I getting bounce notices for a resident?

Their email address on file is wrong, full, or turned off. Update it on their profile, then confirm the new address with the resident another way, like a phone call. See Updating a resident's account details.

Can a resident turn off automated emails?

Yes. They can turn off notification channels in Update My Info in their portal. Their permit still expires on schedule, but they won't be reminded.

A guest got a violation. Was the guest notified?

No. Violations on a guest pass notify the host resident. Check the host resident's Email Log.

Are property managers notified when residents take action?

Your dashboard shows new items, like New Resident Applications and Vehicle Change Requests. Whether you also get email or text notifications depends on the notification preferences on your own user profile.

A resident got two messages about the same thing. Why?

You likely sent a manual message about something ParkingPass also sends. Let the automated notifications cover routine reminders: permit expiration, receipts, guest pass expiration, and violations. Use your own messages for everything else. See How automated notifications work.

A resident didn't get their receipt. What should I check?

Check their Email Log first. Most receipt problems come from spam folders or an old email address. Residents can also find every receipt under Payment System → Payment History in their portal.
