How resident help and messaging work
Last updated: November 3, 2026
Residents have two ways to ask for help in the portal, and each goes to a different place. Help / Support goes to ParkingPass. Message Property Management goes to you.
For the rest of the portal, see Resident portal overview.
How it works
Help / Support
A link in the resident sidebar that opens the resident support form. Residents use it for technical problems, account help, and questions about how ParkingPass works. These requests go to ParkingPass support.
Message Property Management
A button at the top right of every portal page. It sends a message straight to your community's management team, not to ParkingPass. Residents use it for community questions, like rule clarifications, billing exceptions, and dispute conversations.
The dashboard's I Need Help! button and the chat-style widget at the bottom right are other ways residents reach out.
Who can use it
Residents send messages. Property managers receive Message Property Management messages.
Where to find it
Help / Support: in the resident sidebar.
Message Property Management: at the top right of every portal page.
What you can do with it
Point residents to the right channel for their question.
Help a resident who can't log in — see Handling a resident who can't log in.
Common questions
A resident says they messaged us and never heard back. What do I check?
Ask which channel they used. A message through Message Property Management comes to you. A message through Help / Support goes to ParkingPass.
Where should a resident send a question about a rule or a fee?
Message Property Management, since those decisions belong to your community.
Where should a resident send a technical problem?
Help / Support.
Important notes
ParkingPass support handles software questions. Your community handles rules, fees, and enforcement decisions.
